Roasted Peanuts

I remembered as a kid, I used to watch my grandma using a technique called Hot Salt Frying to roast peanuts. The entire house would smell so good from the peanuts and the music made by the crackling peanuts bring back fond memories. However, I also remembered how my grandma used to complain how this cooking technique is damaging to her pots. I suppose I will try one day using my cast iron pans.

Squid Ink Pasta

Squid Ink pasta has become a trendy and popular dish in the US. This has become a favorite of mine as well as lots of my friends. The ‘seafood umami’ taste that the squid ink adds to the egg rich noodle is a definite plus.

Caesar Salad Dressing

This is one of my favorite salad to order at the restaurant. It is such a classic dish that if a restaurant cannot be bothered with making their own dressing, a minus star I take away from my Yelp review of the restaurant.

7 Egg Pasta

This has gotta be the best noodle recipe that I have tried so far. It is adapted from Thomas Keller’s recipe collection which has been widely circulated on the web. The texture of the noodle is great, chewy but not rubbery. This pasta dish is a success with the kids and even adults. I can eat plates of this and squid ink pasta (recipe can be found here) with just a light drizzle of olive oil, salt and pepper!

Crispy Pastry (酥皮)
